Actor Abhinav Choudhary reacted to rumours about his death after Netizens mistook him for IAF pilot Abhinav Choudhary, who lost his life in a MiG-21 fighter jet crash
Television actor Abhinav Choudhary, who was last seen in the show Dadi Amma…Dadi Amma Maan Jaao, became a victim of death rumours a few days ago. It so happened that on May 21, Indian Air Force pilot Abhinav Chaudhary died after his MiG-21 fighter jet crashed at Langeana village of Punjab’s Moga district. People expressed their grief over the IAF pilot’s death. However, some Netizens mistook actor Abhinav Choudhary for the IAF pilot, due to their same names, and the actor was left shocked as he woke up to people sending him RIP messages.
It was a case of mistaken identity, as some people confused actor Abhinav Choudhary with IAF pilot Abhinav Choudhary, who lost his life in a MiG-21 fighter jet crash. Actor Abhinav Choudhary took to his Instagram stories to clarify, and he wrote, “I have been getting a lot of messages & comment RIP n all this #PILOTABHINAVCHAUDHARY & I am #ACTORABHINAVCHOUDHARY. But It's really the saddest news to hear about such dynamic Indian pilot we lost. RIP Pilot and gives some courage to bear such an unbearable loss to his family and entire nation." In an interview with ETimes, the actor said that as people started mourning his death and posted the actor’s pictures, the false news reached his hometown after which he started getting concerned calls.
“The moment I checked my phone and social media account, they were loaded with Rest in Peace messages. Initially I didn't even realise, but soon I saw the news of the pilot's death on the news channel and realised that it was a confusion. People are posting my pictures, and tagging me with sad emojis. I have been trying to clarify and clear this utter confusion. I also put up an insta status saying that I am very much alive,” he said.
Actor Abhinav Choudhary mentioned that he had to call up and explain it to his mom who was crying inconsolably. He said that people should verify facts before posting, as it can create a lot of chaos.
