One of the longest running shows Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is making headlines once again. As we all know, Disha Vakani aka Daya Ben, who delivered a baby girl in November 2017, has been missing from the show since then. After Disha, reports of her brother Mayur Vakani quitting the show have been floating around since quite a while.
Rumours mills were abuzz that Mayur, who plays the role of Sundarlal on the show, may also bid farewell after his real and on-screen sister, Disha. Now, the actor has cleared the air. Speaking to Telly Chakkar, Mayur revealed that the reports are untrue. Apart from being a part of the show, he’s an avid watcher too. He said, “Taarak Mehta is my favourite show, and along with being a part of the show, I am also an avid watcher. I don’t know how my quitting news started circulating, but I want to clarify that it is incorrect. I am very much a part of the show and will stay until the show is on."
After Disha didn’t return to the show, latest reports emerged that the actress may get replaced as the makers can’t wait any longer. The makers of the show gave the actress an ultimatum of 30 days to return to the show. A source close to the makers had told us, “Bas, ab ho gaya. Modi waited ethically how much he and his cast-crew could. Now, Modi says he will just give a concession period of a month, starting today. There has been absolutely no contact between the two parties ever since Dayaben's last day at shoot. Team Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has no problems if she wants to look after her baby but some of her demands that they would imply if she was to return, were just not easy to accept when her husband last has a word with us."
We are sure fans of the show are heaving a sigh of relief on discovering that Mayur Vakani aka Sundarlal won't make an exit.
