TRP charts suggest that Anupamaa is at the top. The show starring Rupali Ganguly in the lead role is one of the favourites of the masses as they are thoroughly enjoying the storyline of Anupamaa. Recently, we saw Rupali Ganguly in a new and decked up avatar in the show. Her brand new version hinted at a makeover of Anupamaa. But is it really true? Is Anupamaa undergoing a makeover? In an interview with Subhash K Jha for SpotboyE, the actress spilled the beans.
In the interview, when asked if her character is going to witness a change, Rupali Ganguly said, "What makeover! No no. Anupamaa was all decked up for her daughter’s birthday. After that she’s back to her sootee (cotton) sarees. I love cotton sarees. Anupamaa’s sartorial tastes are very similar to mine.” Well, honestly, that's the charm of Anupamaa. Her sartorial taste in fashion makes her all the more relatable.
Rupali Ganguly also spoke about her character being perceived as progressive in nature and the popularity of the show. She was quoted saying, "My character was first called regressive. Now she’s called progressive. We have come a long way in time. Everyone is hooked to the serial." She even stated that her dad would have been very proud of her.
Anupamaa is produced by Rajan Shahi. It is a story about a simple housewife who is devoted to taking care of the family.
