As we all are locked up in our houses, we are being treated to some classic shows which are getting re-telecast. From Ramayana, Mahabharat, Shaktimaan, Office Office to many others, the list is getting bigger and better.
One of the longest running shows on TV, Balika Vadhu is also back in this quarantine period. So, we caught up with the main lead, Shashank Vyas, who played Jagya, to know what he has to say about its rerun.
Talking to us exclusively, Shashank said, "Balika Vadhu had some great performances, was brilliantly written and nicely directed. It is a show which is very nostalgic to me and close to my heart. Having worked for 5 long years, I grew up with this show and improved my skills as an actor. In such a situation, your co- actors become your family. We also have a WhatsApp group where we have shared this news. It’s a proud moment for all of us.”
Shashank also added, "Jagya was not the hero of the show. I got a taste of success with this show and that experience will always be dear to me. People loved Jagya because he is an ordinary boy who has his flaws. This show was my school as it helped me to sharpen my craft and skills as an artist. I feel blessed to be a part of this iconic show. My father said a very nice thing to me about Ramayan, that it has its own charm. It's the same with Balika Vadhu. It has the flavour of family values and rawness of village life.”
