Bigg Boss OTT 2: Pooja Bhatt Opens Up About Her Alcohol Addiction; Says, ‘I'm A Recovering Alcoholic’
Pooja Bhatt opened up about her battle with alcoholism and why she decided to talk openly about it
Bollywood filmmaker and actress Pooja Bhatt recently made the headlines for participating in the second season of Bigg Boss OTT. Having made a name for herself in the industry with her powerful performances, she opened up about being a ‘recovering alcoholic’ on the reality show. On the second day in the house itself, she opened up about her alcohol addiction during a chat with comedian Cyrus Broacha and other contestants.
Pooja spoke about how society has given men the license to openly drink, which often leads to them openly talking about their recovering journey. However, women drinking is still considered a taboo, which is why they can’t talk about their recovery journey. Despite being called an alcoholic, the 44-year-old decided to recover while staying in the limelight as she drank openly. She added, “Women don't openly drink and so they don't openly recover. I used to drink openly so when I thought of recovering from alcoholism I realised that why should I recover in the closet?
