Boycott Pavitra Rishta 2: Sushant Singh Rajput Fans Not Happy With The New Season Of The Show, Call For A Ban
The announcement of reviving Pavitra Rishta with a new face of Manav -- Shaheer Sheikh -- has not gone down well with the fans of Sushant Singh Rajput. They have been trending ‘Boycott Pavitra Rishta 2’ and ‘Our Manav Only Sushant’ hashtags on social media since Tuesday morning. Many netizens also trolled Ankita Lokhande for agreeing to be part of the show.

Hiten Tejwani had earlier stepped into SSR's shoes after he quit the show to pursue a career in Hindi movies. Back then, and notably, no such hashtags trended on the social media.

The OTT platforms ALTBalaji and ZEE5 jointly announced part two of the popular soap opera 'Pavitra Rishta', and Ankita Lokhande and Shaheer will be in the lead roles.

This show on ZEE TV found colossal popularity for its drama quotient and the couple --Sushant and Ankita, who played Manav and Archana respectively. It was aired for five years and clocked 1,424 episodes.


Earlier, it was said that the new episodes would be a tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput. But with no confirmation in the offing, the fans, still waiting for the CBI verdict in the SSR case, trended SSR on Twitter.

These fans can be seen drawing cross marks on the picture featuring Ankita Lokhande and Shaheer Sheikh as Manav and Archana. A fan captioned the picture: “No one will be able to take Sushant’s place. @itsSSR Pavitra Rishta serial was popular for Sushant, not for any Natunkita. OUR MANAV ONLY SUSHANT #BoycottBullywood #BoycottPavitraRishta2”.



Another netizen wrote, “Sushant started his career from Manav. He showed his real nature in his role. Please don’t make money in the name of Sushant. @anky1912 @ektarkapoor #BoycottPavitraRishta2 Our Manav Only Sushant”



Another fan posed a question to Ekta Kapoor: “Can you please tell us @ektarkapoor What’s the need for doing the second season of this show” Pavitra Rishta”? As Sushant is not between us Did U really think anyone can able replace Bhram mein ho toh baahar aa jao. As we all will #BoycottPavitraRishta2 OUR MANAV ONLY SUSHANT.”

Actor-turned-producer Bhairavi Raichura’s 24 Frames Production will helm the digital series Pavitra Rishta 2 on ZEE5. She plans to stream the series for 55 days and after that, the show will also be available on ALTBalaji. The second season is written by Nikita Dhond, Gautam Hegde and Ritu Bhatia, and will be directed by Nandita Mehra.
