Mohit Raina aka Mahadev's big comeback on Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat on Colors has come a cropper. The TV actor had entered the historical when it took a leap in April.
However his entry did not really set the ratings on fire. A source says, "The only saving grace was that the numbers did not drop post Mohit's entry."
Clearly, Mohit could not hold the viewers' attention as his younger avatar Ashoka Siddharth Nigam, who was so popular in the earlier portions.
Seems, Colors has lost all hope in the show now, hence it is planning to take it off next month. It will be replaced by Bigg Boss Season 10 which starts on October 16 in the 9-10 pmslot.
The channel has however not yet taken a call on the 9.30 pm show Swargani, which will be either shut down or shifted to another time slot. Buzz is, it might be moved to 10.30 pm replacing Krishnadasi which will get the axe. 
Mohit confirmed with SpotboyE.com that Ashoka is being pulled off from mid-October. When asked if he felt bad about its termination, he quipped, "Not at all, I knew it would be for a limited period and that was the reason I came on board.”
