Chhavi Mittal Reveals She Dodged Chemotherapy After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, Urges Women To ‘Perform Regular Self-examinations’
Chhavi Mittal has been an inspiration for many with her cancer recovery story.

The TV actress recently underwent breast cancer surgery last month and even shared how she is dealing with the painful procedure via a social media post. Evidently, Mittal has been very open about her battle with cancer and she has bravely shared her post-op journey with her fans and loved ones.


Now, in a recent interview with ETimes, Chhavi Mittal revealed how she broke the news of her cancer diagnosis to her children and that she was glad and felt lucky she could undergo radiation therapy over chemotherapy.

"The cancer was removed from the body. Now radiation therapy will begin; it will extend for 20 sessions. I have dodged chemotherapy and I am lucky," she said.

She urged women to do breast self-examinations regularly. "Breast cancer can be cured if detected early. Symptoms include lump, discharge, inverted nipples," she shares.


Talking about her treatment, she says she is very hopeful. "It's all going to be fine," she says.

"I am told that radiation therapy is advanced and no side effects will occur. Even if there are some, I am informed that they will go away in 15 days. The radiation sessions will happen every day and be completed in a month's time. Nothing will happen to me. God is with me. If he wasn't, I wouldn't have discovered the lump," she adds.


In her latest social media post, Chhavi shared a series of pictures along with a note wherein she updated fans about her current recovery stage. She also mentioned how she has been dealing with pain while doing what she loves the most, gymming. She further added how she manages to feel great even on the most painful and sick days.
