Daddy Sumeet Vyas Opens Up On Why He Named His Newborn Ved; Explains The Significance

Yesterday morning, Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul welcomed their little bundle of joy after months of waiting and excitement. The duo has named their baby boy Ved. Now, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the Veere Di Wedding actor spilled the beans on why he chose that particular name for his son. As per Sumeet, the name Ved was discussing long back when his relatives were deciding a name for their kid and since then, it settled in his mind. Sumeet also credited his line of Ved Vyas as one of the links behind the same. The actor also opened up on why he and Ekta chose their aunt's hospital over a multi-facilitated one.
Sumeet said, "Long ago, one of our relatives was having a child and we were discussing names when Ved came up and stayed with me. I decided if I have a boy, I’ll name him Ved. Since we come from the line of Ved Vyas, it makes sense.” Elaborating on why the delivery took place in his aunt's nursing home, he said, "We couldn’t trust a multi-facility hospital at a time like this. It was a normal delivery and both Ekta and Ved are doing fine.”
In the wake of the Coronavirus lockdown, Sumeet's family couldn't be there at the hospital during Ekta's delivery. The actor, however, hopes to see them meeting his newborn after they take him home. “Once we return home, we’ll see if they can be brought over to meet the baby, even if only for an hour,” added the actor.
Sharing the good news with fans, Sumeet had revealed he and Ekta are so excited to become parents that they can't stop 'smothering' their munchkin. Well, now all we wait to catch is a glimpse of their little one!
