Dance reality show, Dance Deewane 3 judge Madhuri Dixit's bond with late choreographer Saroj Khan was a perfect example of guru-shishya jodi. Remembering Saroj Khan on the show Dance Deewane 3, Dixit shared how the late choreographer gave her strength on the movie sets. On the show, Madhuri shed light on the number of aspects such as expressions, movements, grace, and finesse and also how to look pleasing to the camera that she learnt from the late choreographer. Further, the Bucket List actress got teary-eyed when the contestants dedicated an act for Saroj Khan and her.
Contestants performed on Tabah ho Gaye which was the last time Saroj and Madhuri worked together. On being asked if Saroj Khan ever scolded her, Madhuri replied, “Yes, I’ve been scolded by her. Once she scolded me for crying after my director had scolded me. She said, ‘Why are you crying? Don’t ever cry in life.’ I miss her a lot.” Gushing over Saroj Khan, she called her a model of women empowerment, as made her mark in the male dominated industry.
Madhuri adds, “At a time when there were only male choreographers, she (Saroj Khan) made the place of a ‘masterji’ for herself,” said the actor.
Recalling their last shoot together for Tabah Ho Gaye, as the late choreographer could not show her the steps, still Madhuri understood only via her verbal instructions.
