We were the first to bring you the news that STAR Plus' Saath Nibhana Saathiya is going off air soon. Now, we have it that the show's lead actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee has undergone a major backbone surgery in Nanavati Hospital (Vile Parle West).
The surgery was completed about 2 hours ago.
Devoleena is admitted to a Special Ward- Ward No 16, Bed No 323.
Saath Nibhana Saathiya producer Rashmi Sharma declined to comment and excused herself saying, "Please talk to my assistant as I am in a meeting."
However, a source from Nanavati confirmed on Devoleena's operation and said, "Yes, Devoleena has undergone a backbone surgery. She is feeling much better now."
Added the source, "Devoleena was wheeled in yestrerday in acute pain."
In the same story wherein we told you that it's time to say goodbye to Saath Nibhana Saathiya, we also brought you that Saath Nibhana Saathiya will be replaced by another existing show on STAR Plus, Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji, which is currently scheduled in the afternoon slot.
Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji, starring Rhea Sharma and Avinesh Rekhi in the lead, is a sequel of another popular show, Diya Aur Baati Hum. Deepika Singh, who has just embraced motherhood, was the leading lady in Diya Aur Baati Hum while Anas Rashid played her love interest. The show was very popular and it made Deepika Singh a household name.
Coming back to Devoleena, the 26-year old popular TV actress is likely to be in the hospital for at least a week. It goes without saying that the next many episodes will hardly have Devoleena in the story.
SpotboyE.com wishes Devoleena a speedy recovery.
