Disha Vakani's Brother Mayur On Her Return To Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: "I Am Hard-Pressed, Leave Me Alone"

Mayur Vakani aka Sunderlal of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah made headlines last week when he said that, contrary to the buzz, he is not leaving the show. The man is as scared as a wet cat if you speak to him these days. Sources close to the show say that he got petrified (and remains so) when he read some reports spelling out his exit from the Asit Modi show when he actually hadn't planned so.
So yeah, Mayur is largely avoiding calls even after clarifying that no such exit is happening for him, as reported. A source says, "Mayur has no intentions of quitting. It is just that his role has decreased, essentially because the show is not showing Dayaben since quite some time."

"Look, what has Mayur got besides Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Practically nothing. He tends to get shows but all that is due to his Sunderlal character in the serial. So why would he do a shekhchilli on himself?"
We decided to call Mayur (incidentally Disha's husband's name is also Mayur, the man who interfered at her workplace to put some demands on Asit Modi) and ask if Disha was planning to return to the show. Mayur might be repenting that he picked up our call, he sounded doubly tense than we had imagined. Responding to our query on Disha, he only said, "I can speak only for myself." Prodded further, he would only repeat, "I am hard-pressed. Leave me alone."
