Popular comedy sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ lately has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Last month, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who essayed the role of Mrs. Roshan Sodhi, quit the show after accusing the producers of sexual harassment. She even lodged a Police complaint against Asit Kumarr Modi, Project Head Sohail Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj of sexual misconduct at the workplace. Now, Jennifer in a new interview has made yet another explosive revelation.
Speaking with Pinkvilla, the actress revealed even the late actor Ghanshyam Nayak was harassed on the sets of Taarak. The senior actor passed away on 3 October 2021 due to cancer. Jennifer was quoted as saying, “Nattu Kaka ko bhi bohot pareshan kiya hai gaya hai (Even Nattu Kaka was harassed).” Bansiwal turned emotional as she had tears in her eyes while opening up about her young brother's passing and revealed she was not allowed to leave the shoot while her brother was on a ventilator. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal had also spoken about incidents where Asit Kumarr made her uncomfortable with his remarks. She recalled how the producer would invite her to drink whiskey with him when the team had gone to Singapore in 2019. The actress told Aajtak, “During the trip, Asit me to come and drink whiskey in his room. I was surprised to hear this from him. Then a day later he said, ‘you are looking very beautiful, I feel like holding and kissing you. Hearing this, I trembled in fear.”
Not just Jennifer, many actors have come out in the public sharing their ordeal of working with Asit Modi. Monika Bhadoriya, who played Bawri in TMKOC, revealed that Asit held her dues of three months for over a year and that she had to fight really hard to get her money from him. She also alleged also the producer threatened to ruin her career.
