Hina Khan who became a household name as Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai moved to non-fiction space by doing reality shows such as Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss 11. Last year, the actress returned to the fiction space with Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 and demanded a bomb making her the highest paid actress on Television. The actress herself confessed that she is   making a lot of money from the medium.

In a recent interview with Anupama Chopra, Hina was asked if she really is the highest paid actress at the moment on the small screen, to which she replied in a quirky way, saying “I won’t deny and I won't accept”. Well, that answers the million dollar question.


SpotboyE.com was the first one to tell you that Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2's Komolika aka Hina Khan is the highest paid amongst all the actors in the show which also made her highest paid on TV. As a source had disclosed to us, "Hina Khan will be charging Rs 2.25 lakh per episode, which is huge in the telly world. She is coming back to the small screen post the success of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Bigg Boss 11, hence the makers agreed to pay the sum.”


We also told you how Hina Khan defeated Shilpa Shinde over prize money even though the latter walked away with the winning title of Bigg Boss 11. Hina Khan’s take home price from the reality show was Rs 1.75 Cr as compared to Shilpa Shinde’s Rs 1.29 Cr. That’s Rs 46 Lakh more for Hina. As per her contract, the actress received Rs 1.25 Cr for the first 10 weeks. She received an additional Rs 50 Lakh for the last 5 weeks that she was in the house. It took her total to Rs 1.75 Cr. As per Shilpa’s contract, she received Rs 6 lakh per week for the first 10 weeks. For rest of the 5 weeks, she pocketed Rs 5 lakh per week. That made it Rs 85 Lakh in all. Add to that, Shilpa's prize money for winning the title, i.e, Rs 44 Lakh. Her total take home prize comes to Rs 1.29 Crore.


Hina is currently gearing up for her Bollywood debut with Rahat Kazmi's Lines, whose poster was unveiled at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival this year. The actress slayed it on the red carpet but was criticized by Filmfare Editor Jitesh Pillaai. However, she gave it back to him and even earned great support from Bollywood and TV industry. Priyanka Chopra too shared a post with Hina from the after-party of Cannes exercising women empowerment.
