Television show Humari Bahu Silk’s non-payment controversy has been around for a few days now. Actor Zaan Khan took to social media and blasted producers for non-payment of dues, and asked the producers to pay up and stop being inhuman. Now, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon stood up for daily wage workers of Humari Bahu Silk and urged producers to clear their dues. She shared a video of a technician alleging non-payment and also asked for Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA)’s help.
The video shared by Kriti is of an old technician who claims he hasn’t been paid for the past seven months. He says that their financial situation is pretty bad amid Coronavirus crisis and that when they approached the producers for their money, they were threatened by saying do whatever you want to do. He then says that he isn’t begging for money, he’s only asking for his hard-earned money which is rightfully his- a sum of Rs 1.42 lakh. He also mentions having filed a police complaint, but even that did not work.
Sharing the video, Kriti Sanon wrote, “This is terrible!! This is just one incident that i know of because a friend of mine has worked in this daily soap: Humari Bahu Silk.. But my heart breaks to see so many people suffering because they haven’t received their payments! This is the time when the daily wage earners need their hard-earned money the most!!”
Further, Kriti Sanon tagged CINTAA and asked them to help. She also urged the concerned producers to pay their dues. Zaan Khan thanked her for speaking up about this. On his Instagram story, he wrote, “It makes a lot of difference when people who have the voice and power speak up for people they don't even know. Only for humanity. Kriti Sanon, thank you for being that person.” ALSO READ: Humari Bahu Silk Non-Payment Controversy: Chahat Pandey Says, 'Had The Lockdown Not Been There, We Would Have Protested Outside Zee TV's Office'- EXCLUSIVE
