India’s Best Dancer: Tiger Pop AKA Ajay Singh From Gurugram Wins The Dance Reality Show, Wants To Choreograph Hrithik Roshan
Ajay Singh from Gurugram is overwhelmed as he lifts the trophy for the very first season of India’s Best Dancer
Gurugram based Ajay Singh, also popularly known as Tiger Pop, became the first winner of the dance reality show, India’s Best Dancer. The winner took home the trophy, a cash prize of Rs. 15 lakh and a car, while his choreographer Vartika Jha won Rs 5 lakh. The final round saw Mukul Gain, Shweta Warrier, Paramdeep Singh and Subhranil Paul competing with Ajay Singh. Ajay was known for his pop style dancing, which had left the audience and the judges of this show impressed.
As quoted in The Indian Express, Ajay was elated to win this title and shared each of his moments from the audition to him performing on the show being surreal. He also shared it was his mother’s dream to watch him achieve great height and praises should not be taken for granted, as one needs to work hard to earn it. He also expressed his thankfulness to the judges- Terence Lewis, Malaika Arora and Geeta Kapur for keeping everyone grounded and being an inspiration for everybody.
He said, “I am beyond happy to have won the coveted title of India’s Best Dancer. I cannot believe that my childhood dream of being on a platform like India’s Best Dancer and winning it, has come true today. The whole journey of being on India’s Best Dancer, right from my very first audition, to my first battle, to being paired with a choreographer like Vartika Jha, to performing and learning something new week on week has been surreal. Standing here on this stage made me realize that adulation cannot be taken for granted. You have to work hard to earn it.”
As reported in Times Of India, he also wishes to choreograph two dancing legends Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, he said, “I want to take up Bollywood projects and represent India on an international platform. I would like to represent India either on 'World Of Dance' or 'America’s Got Talent'. Malaika Arora gushing over the winner mentioned he deserves this title, as he is brilliant. She said, “I am very very happy that Tiger Pop is our first season’s winner. Tiger is brilliant at what he does, and I think the audience has given their verdict on the same. They love him, and he truly deserves the success he has achieved today.”
