Indian Idol 12: Ahead Of Grand Finale, Pawandeep Rajan Speaks About His ‘Friendship’ With Arunita Kanjilal, Says ‘People Will Realise That There Was Nothing Between Us’
Ahead of the 12-hour long grand finale of Indian Idol 12, one of the finalists Pawandeep Rajan addressed his friendship with Arunita Kanjilal, saying that there’s nothing romantic between them. Read on!
Since the beginning of the twelfth season of the singing reality show, Indian Idol, a sort of romantic angle has been presented and highlighted between co-contestants Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal. The love angle only brought criticism at their doorstep, but the makers remained rather unfazed about it. Also, many a time, host Aditya Narayan was seen teasing the two which left them blushing. However, putting the record straight before the show ends, Pawandeep has admitted that Arunita is only a close friend and that there’s nothing romantic between the two.
While speaking to IndianExpress.com, Rajan said, “Honestly, all of us have spent so much time together that we are inseparable. I think it happens with everyone when your friendship is seen as something more. I think in time people will realise that there was nothing between us. At the moment, we are all young and have a career to focus on. These things can wait. All said and done, I want our friendship to last till we are old.” Now, that’s sweet!
Furthermore, Pawandeep who has been a winner of The Voice in 2015 revealed it was his 'quest to learn more' that compelled him to join this competition.
“Indian Idol is a platform that gives a lot of respect to artistes, and the kind of exposure it gets you is unmatched. Through the course of the show, we got to sing so many songs and had the best judges and guests to guide us. The reason I got back in the arena was not my will to win but my quest to learn. And I am thankful that after spending so many months on this show, we are now ready to playback,” he told the portal.
Meanwhile, the grand finale episode of Indian Idol 12 will take place on August 15, on Independence Day. For the first time ever, the finale will last for 12 hours, from noon to midnight. Pawandeep Rajan will be battling with Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Shanmukhapriya, Nihal Turao and Sayli Kamble for the coveted trophy.
