Javed Akhtar was the latest guest to grace Indian Idol 12 where he was seen applauding Indian Idol 12 contestant Shanmukhapriya in the latest episode. Here’s how she reacted to his compliment
One of the contestants of Indian Idol 12 that gained immense popularity and the one who has impressed the judges and guests with her powerful vocals is Shanmukhapriya. The girl always leaves everyone starstruck with her performance and well, she yet again managed to impress the latest guest of the show, lyricist Javed Akhtar. In the latest episode, Javed was seen heaping praises for Shanmukhapriya after her performance. Akhtar saab thinks she has a bright future ahead.
“I have seen a lot of your songs on YouTube and today saw you perform live. Continue to work the way you are. You have a very bright future ahead of you,” said Javed Akhtar. Shanmukhapriya was overwhelmed after hearing Javed Akhtar's reaction and excitedly said, “I was awestruck the moment I saw Javed Sir enter the sets. I am such a huge fan of his work. His writing is what makes the song a lot more melodious. Being on the same set as him is a big deal. I am so grateful to Indian Idol Season 12 for giving me the opportunity to perform in front of a legend like Javed Sir. I couldn’t stand the ground when he mentioned he’s heard my yodelling & seen my videos. Javed Sir is a legendary artist and to receive a compliment like this means the world to me.”
Even Aditya Narayan was in all praises for Shanmukhapriya and expressed his desire to do a concert with her. “I would love to go on a concert with Shanmukhapriya across cities once the lockdown gets uplifted. Her energy is infectious, and I feel she’ll make for a great performer,” he said.
