The upcoming episode of Indian Idol 12 will be graced by legendary singers Kavita Krishnamurthy and Kumar Sanu. The promo has been posted by Sony Television on their social media accounts. It showcases a grand welcome of the Padma Shri recipient, followed by her getting impressed with contestant Arunita Kanjilal’s performance. The promo has Arnunita singing Maar Daala from the movie Devdas, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. This iconic number was originally sung by the guest Kavita Krishnamurthy.
On listening to Arunita croon this number, Kavita Krishnamurthy was left stunned. She commented she felt like she was listening to a recorded song. The senior singer said, “Aisa lag raha tha ki record sun rahe hai (I felt like I am listening to a recorded song). You were wonderful.” Arunita sang Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’s title track. Her performances left Kavita Krishnamurthy amazed for the ease she had in the songs.
As reported by India.com, Arunita Kanjilal confessed being Kavita’s fan. “I am a huge fan of Kavita ma’am, she is my idol. It is my honor to perform in front of her and all the great legends who have been a part of Indian Idol. I am grateful to the show for allowing me to showcase my talent in front of these iconic singers."
Arunita is one of the top six contestants competing for the trophy of Indian Idol 12. The 12-hour long finale episode of Indian Idol 12 will be shot across three days (except for the results) and will be telecast on August 15.
