Indian Idol 12 is all set to choose its champion on August 15, Independence Day. In the run-up to the star-studded finale, the makers called one of the prolific directors and the most celebrated personality, Karan Johar to grace the show. The filmmaker becomes the latest guest judge to appear on the show - one week before the grand finale where he will be judging the top contestants of the show — Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Sayli Kamble, Nihal Tauro, Shanmukhapriya, and Mohd Danish.
A promo of him visiting the show was shared on the official Instagram account of Sony TV, where he is heard saying that he wants some of the contestants to sing for his home banner Dharma Productions. Furthermore, he said on Independence Day, a blockbuster film, Sholay was released and Indian Idol 12 grand finale will become the second blockbuster event. While chatting with the host Aditya Narayan, KJo happened to reveal an incident with his father Udit Narayan during the song recording of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai title track.
Recalling the time, Karan mentioned that his father wears the same pink shirt while singing Shah Rukh Khan’s songs. So when he got to know that it is SRK's song, he went back home and wore the same pink shirt to the recording studio. The shirt’s colour was worn off but he still wore it as he considered it to be lucky.
For the recent outing, the filmmaker was seen wearing an all-black ensemble. He wore a black shirt along with a jacket which has blingy strings on the sleeves and the torso of the jacket.
The finale episode of Indian Idol 12 will be shot across three days (except for the winner's announcement) and will be telecast on August 15 for 12 hours - from 12 pm till midnight.
