On International Women’s Day 2021, Mahika Sharma says ‘I choose to challenge’; reveals she worked as a babysitter to earn money after her mother broke all ties with her
International Women's Day is here and this year the theme is 'Choose To Challenge'. Mahika Sharma, who has been involved in many social activities and has featured in television shows like F.I.R , Ramayana and rumoured to be in relationship with adult star, Danny D, revealed that once she worked as babysitter to take a stand for herself.
She says, "I still remember the time, my mother broke all ties with me and I didn't want to return home but focus on my career here in Mumbai. I was in need of money and a home. I started working as babysitter. I spent quality of time playing with or caring for kids while their parents are away. Being a woman I feel proud that I took a stand for myself, I choose to challenge the society who was against me because I was friend to an actor working in adult industry. It was my life, why a woman need to face boundaries even when they are not wrong. I wished to fly and today I'm all independent. I own respect and love from the society. And I'm proud of myself."
The actress known for featuring in other shows like 'Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai' and 'Police Factory feels sorry for the way women are targeted. She adds, "In our country, women are easily targeted. The society talks about women safety and all sorts of things but they could never make a strong stand when required. Like in Sushant Singh Rajput case, I really don't know who is the culprit and I would respect the decision taken by our court and legal authorities. But I really feel bad how society had spoiled Rhea Chakraborty's image. Being a woman she was punished, everyone with no proof, mentioned her as criminal. I really feel sad and sorry. But now it's high time that a woman needs to take a stand for another woman. And there are many such cases."
