Indian-American actor Kal Penn wishes to be a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Producer Asit Modi states that he would be happy to have him onboard
Indian-American actor Kalpen Suresh Modi, popularly known as Kal Penn confessed that he would like to star in the popular sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Recently, he put up a video of himself impersonating “an old, ridiculous Gujarati sketch character with a great shirt” called “Ladies Bhai”.
In the 44-second-long video which had English subtitles, the actor spoke about Ladies Bhai in Gujarati. He boasted about kissing a girl in his neighbourhood. Check out the video right here:
A fan suggested 'Ladies Bhai' must be included in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, to which the Harold & Kumar star responded, "You joke but this has legit been a goal."
Soon, producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah took note of this and replied, "Kalpen bhai! Great to hear from you, I already have an empty flat beside Jethalal’s in Gokuldham so you’re always welcome... In case, tame tamara mitra Harold ne laavo toh Harold and Kumar’s Pravaas to Gokuldham’ toh huj produce karis!"
He added, “Having Kal Penn in our show would be fantastic. We have had almost all top actors from Bollywood in our show. It’s time we went international. TMKOC is iconic and so is Kal Penn. His comic timing and art of performance is fantastic. Looking forward to making his wish into a reality.”
Then, he asked Kal Penn to send him his contact details. Actress Munmun Dutta who plays Babita on the show wrote, "Hahaha. I was blissfully unaware of this development until someone tagged me. Kal, ,book your next flight to Mumbai soon . We need you here pronto."
Kal Penn’s video has received more than 4000 likes and has his fans rooting for him to be on the show.
