There was a question in everyone's minds as soon as the Colors party began last night: Will Kapil Sharma join the channel in their revelry? It was answered only five hours later when the lights dimmed. Kapil had chosen to stay away.

Ditto for all his team members- Dadi (Ali Asgar), Guthi (Sunil Grover), Paaji (Navjot Singh Sidhu) and Palak (Kikku Sharda)- barring one, Mrs Kapil Sharma (Sumona Chakravarti), who played his wife in Comedy Nights with Kapil.

Sumona walked in a little before the clock struck twelve. Obviously, she did a lot of back-and-forth before deciding that she will drop by for a few minutes. We won't be surprised if she asked for Kapil's permission before getting her hair and make-up done for the occasion.

Was Team Kapil invited? Yes. Colors' CEO Raj Nayak had sent them a personal invitation.
Did he want to avoid Krushna Abhishek who has been lashing out at him after he took over his Sunday slot with Comedy Live? A source says, "No. Kapil just didn't feel like reuniting with Colors at this point."
Clearly, Kapil's wounds have still not healed. For those who've come in late, only two months ago, he had an ugly spat with the channel before his popular show Comedy Nights with Kapil went off air.
Back to the party. Bollywood's attendance comprised of Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Aditi Rao Hydari, Ranvir Shorey, Shamita Shetty, Anu Malik, Gulshan Grover and Ashmit Patel.
