Karwa Chauth 2020: TV Actresses Puja Banerjee, Ruhi Chaturvedi And More Share Their Plans For The First Fast

Karwa Chauth is one of the upcoming festivals to be celebrated by married couples and with many TV couples to have tied the knot in the last one year, this year will mark their first celebration with their loved ones. The list includes Deepika Ramchandani and Gunjan Utreja, Kunal Verma and Puja Banerjee, Manish Raisinghan and Sangeita Chauhan and Shivendraa Om Saainiyol and Ruhi Chaturvedi.
Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon actor Gunjan Utreja has plans to spend time with his better half, as his work schedule has kept him away from her. Also the actor shared of fasting along with his wife and pray for her long life, he said, “I will be fasting with her since I, too, want to pray for her long life.” He also mentioned this day to be no phone day for him, “I have decided that it will be a no-phone day for both of us, so that no one disturbs us.” He further adds, “Apart from my time and attention dedicated just to her, I have planned to get her some presents to make her feel special. These include clothes, jewellery, plants and home decor items that she fancies. I know she really wants to go home (Singapore), but a gift like that will have to wait due to COVID-19.”
Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma who turned parents to a lovely baby boy too have some unique plans to celebrate this day. Kunal shares he doesn’t want his wife and actress to fast this year after their child’s birth. Also due to the pandemic, they will have this festival on a low note by meeting their relatives virtually.
He said, “Since Puja had a C-section, I don’t want her to keep a fast this year. I just want her to focus on her health. Due to the pandemic, we are planning to meet and greet our relatives virtually. It’s an important festival for us, but it would be a low-key affair this year.”
Puja said, “I have been fasting for him even before we were married. This year will be difficult, but I will keep the fast. I really want to buy a new sari, but going out is a big no-no for me. I might buy my attire online or ask some designer to send me something. Following them, actor Manish Raisinghan too shared deets about his wife Sangeita Chauhan’s first Karwa Chauth. The Sasural Simar Ka actor who likes to surprise his wife mentioned all rituals will be followed as the coupled resides with Manish’s parents, also he will be fasting for her. He shared of decorating the house, followed by having plans to arrange a candlelight dinner for her.
He said, “Since I live with my parents, the rituals would be taken care of by them. First of all, I would be fasting for her as she would be for me. I have got a few décor items with which I plan to decorate the house, since we won’t be stepping out unless it’s necessary. Additionally, I am also figuring out a nice romantic candlelight dinner for her because she loves stuff like that.”
Sangeita speaking about her attire, said, “I have a red Patiala suit with zardosi work which I will wear; I want to go in for sustainable fashion for this festival. I am really excited as I will be breaking my fast in full filmi style as we see in movies and shows. Since I live with my mother-in-law, whatever she says, I will follow. I want to do things the right way. And lastly Kundali Bhagya actress Ruhi Chaturvedi who tied knot Shivendraa Om Saainiyol shared her plans for Karwa Chauth. The diva will be visiting her parents, also her hubby Shivendraa has gifted her a lovely saree for this occasion. “We wanted to go to Jaipur where Shivendraa’s family is, but in this situation now, we will be going to my mother’s place. In my home, a katha will be narrated which I would listen to. I think keeping the fast would be challenging for me because I have a habit of drinking a lot of water and here, I cannot even drink one drop.”
She further adds, “Shivendraa had gifted me a red brocade sari post our marriage, so that would be the perfect attire for the day as it is very special to me.”
Her husband added, “If she is praying for me then I, too, should... that is how our partnership would last long. It’s her brother’s first Karwa Chauth, too, so I think she would feel nice being with her brother, sister-in-law and mother.
