Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain Actress Palak Jain To Play Lead In AltBalaji's It Happened In Calcutta?-EXCLUSIVE
ALTBalaji is all set to come up with a new web series titled ‘It Happened in Calcutta’. Ensuring that the audience gets one of the most gripping and realistic series in recent times, the creative team of ALTBalaji spent almost two and a half years on the research and development of the script for this web series. The makers of the show were in search of that perfect face, for which more than 300 girls were auditioned for the role of the female protagonist.

And now, we hear actress Palak Jain whom we last saw in ALTBalaji's Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain, is being considered by the makers to play the lead role.

A source close to the show told SpotboyE.com that the show is going on floors soon and if all goes well Palak may play the lead. Although she hasn't signed on the dotted lines yet.

The story, set in the year 1960s in the ‘City of Joy- Calcutta’, revolves around a young girl who aspires to become an esteemed doctor in the city. She gets into Calcutta Medical college to fulfill her dream, where she comes across a flamboyant, cocky, arrogant and devastatingly handsome boy and falls in love with him. But this is not it, what follows is a series of events that further adds to the twist in the tale.

Palak who have been part of popular shows like Kaahin Kissii Roz, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Do Hanso Ka Joda, Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar made her digital debut with ALTBalaji's Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain.

On personal front, Palak got married to Tapasvi Mehta on February 10. Interestingly, both Palak and Tapasvi have been child artistes and the actress claims she was the latter’s biggest fan ever since she saw him on his show Ishaan eight years ago. She spilled the beans on their love story and said that Tapasvi left for Australia to learn filmmaking after his show Parvarrish (2011), in which he played Shweta Tiwari's son, wrapped up. The two didn’t meet for five years.

While sharing her love story, Palak had earlier told a leading daily, “There was no connection with him, but he returned to Mumbai for 10 days in February 2016 for the casting of his film, and that’s when a common friend suggested that I join Tapasvi in the production. I don’t know whether it was my love for production or him, but I immediately agreed. We grew fond of each other, but didn’t get enough time to bond over. A year later, I left for Australia for three months to work on the film’s production and that’s when things started rolling. One day, I proposed to him, going down on my knees, holding the ‘Will you marry me?’ card. I waited for him at his home and cooked his favourite dish, paav bhaji, and decorated the home with candles and flowers. I popped the question when he was least expecting it. I never thought that he could decline the proposal. I had given him no option (laughs!). He came to India in December 2017 and we told our respective families about our relationship a month later. I never believed that my first crush would be my husband, eventually.”
