Nibeditaa Paal, who is currently seen playing the role of Roohi in the show Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein, opens up about how the world of social media network has become a very important part of an actor's life. According to her, everything has taken digital advancement.
Talking to SpotboyE.com Nibeditaa Paal said, "It’s great that everyone can take advantage of social media by increasing their digital presence. It’s given us more access to stay connected for sure and it helps to increase your visibility across the globe. I think social media has now been a pivotal part for us. It really helps us stay connected to our fans but on the downside it can be heavily distracting. Moreover, sometimes it can become an addiction, if we don't keep a balance. I too face the same issue at times but when I realise I am overdoing it I take a step back." Further talking about the debate on the relevance of social media popularity to an actor's talent, she says, "To be honest, I have never considered social media followers as a foundation for talent and skill. In fact, if you see most of the renowned actors don’t even have a huge social media fan base yet they are doing premium work. I think the ones that run after social media popularity are the ones who aren’t confident about their own talent. I personally think it’s ridiculous that people get signed for acting projects based on their social media followers. The fact that people are getting projects on the basis of followers is very absurd, because acting is a craft and it takes a lot of research and skill to build a character and play it. People don’t realize that acting is something that needs a lot of concentration. Which is why even though people have bagged projects based on their followers they haven’t been able to deliver because they have not even worked on the craft. Sharing one thing that annoys her about social media and one thing that she loves, Nibeditaa says, "The fact that everyone has access to it now and it’s almost at a point of being misused now. But the best part is there are some amazing people on there and I have received so much love. It gives me the chance to connect with my actual fans."
