Lock Upp: Nisha Rawal Tears Up As She Reveals She Is Bipolar, Says ‘Log Meko Pagal Bolte The, I Was Not Allowed To Cry When I Lost My Baby’
In the latest episode of Lock Upp, Nisha Rawal reveals she is bipolar and that people use to call her ‘mad’
Nisha Rawal, who is currently locked up in Kangana Ranaut's prison on the reality show ‘Lock Upp’ has been making some candid confessions on Ekta Kapoor’s produced show. Right from opening up about ex-husband Karan Mehra's extramarital affair, suffering domestic violence to accepting she is bipolar, Nisha is not shying away from pouring her heart out on the reality show. In the latest episode, the actress during a task claimed to have bipolar disorder. She also revealed how challenging it was for her to express her feelings after she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
In a video shared on Nisha’s Instagram account, the actress spoke about her struggle while inmates were discussing mental health awareness. The actress said she was accused of being mentally ill and was not permitted to cry or express her feelings. Nisha said, “Now, I am going to talk about my journey. I am bipolar. As soon as I say this, people raise their eyebrows and say bipolar pagal hai kya yeh. The worst of it is that my Bipolarity was used as an excuse to escape and to put it on me that because she is bipolar she is crazy, she is mad so she did this to herself. When I lost my baby, I was not even allowed to cry.”
Nisha broke down in tears while sharing her story. Wiping off her tears, she added, “I then went to the doctor in spite of the fact that my partner did not support me. I met the doctor and talked to him and then I got to know that I was going through a depressive phase of bipolarity at that time. During that tough phase, I had moments of emotional abuse, mental abuse, and physical abuse. So, this journey had been going since then.”
Hearing Nisha’s heartbreaking struggle, all the contestants, particularly Karanvir Bohra could not hold back his tears and he was seen getting emotional. For the unversed, last year, Nisha filed a complaint against her ex-husband and actor Karan Mehra and accused him of domestic violence and infidelity. He was sent to jail and later released on bail.
