Muskaan actress Vandana Singh has been away from the small screen since quite some time now. The actress shares reason for the same
Vandana Singh has worked in shows like Phir Subah Hogi, Aaj Ki Housewife Sab Janti Hai, Ishq Ka Rang Safed, Udaan and last seen in the show Muskaan. After the show went off air in 2019, Vandana has been missing from screen.
On being asked about the same, she said, "It has been a long time now, since I haven't worked in any show. The reason being in our entertainment industry, people typecast and after I did Muskaan, I have got opportunities just like the character in Muskaan, in which there is no performance scope. So, I took this break to find something in which I can actually perform and do something different. This is a sad part of being in this industry that once you’ve done a certain kind of character, you get typecast and then all the characters you get offered are the same. If you’ve played a negative character, you’ll probably get the same kind of character in your next show. If you’ve played the character of a sister or a friend, you’ll get the same characters again and again and you won’t get other opportunities. So, I’m waiting for the right opportunity in which I can showcase my talent and abilities." Further talking about what she did in lockdown, she said, "I went back to my hometown Chandigarh as it was difficult staying in Mumbai at that time. I couldn't afford living here as I wasn't getting any work and all know how expensive it is to live here. I went to Chandigarh, spent some quality time with my family. On the other hand, I watched a lot of web series and shows, learnt a lot of new techniques to improve my craft and attended a few online workshops as well." What type of characters are you looking out for now? "I’m hoping to get something where I can actually perform and give my best. Basically an opportunity where there is immense scope to prove myself and my craft. I am open to everything but it should have some kind of responsibility in the show." she shared.
