Naamkarann star Viraf Patell has donated his wedding funds to the COVID-19 patients and tied the knot with his fiancé Saloni Khanna in court
Actors Viraf Patell and Saloni Khanna are now happily married couple. They had the most unusual wedding instead of a lavish one. The Naamkarann actor and Saloni exchanged wedding vows at Bandra Court, Mumbai on May 6. The couple opted for a simple court wedding, owing to the pandemic. As we speak of the unusual wedding, the couple got married in just Rs. 150. Can you imagine a wedding costing just150 bucks? Well, that’s how the lovely couple tied the knot. Reportedly, Viraf Patell has donated his wedding funds to the COVID-19 patients and chose to get marry his fiancé Saloni Khanna in court.
“I’ve gotten married in Rs150 flat! We paid 100 bucks as a fee to the marriage registrar, and 50 for the photocopies. Saloni and I weren’t really looking at a big fat Indian wedding, anyway but with whatever we’ve saved, we will use to support as many Covid battles and causes we can, within our circles and beyond. This will hopefully give our wedding and togetherness more meaning,” the actor told HT. The actor also said that their families were a little disappointed with the decision but he talked them out and said that they have their lives ahead to celebrate. He also pointed out that the wedding doesn’t matter but the marriage does.
What’s even more interesting was that instead of a ring, Viraf sealed the deal by giving Saloni a rubber band as a ring. “I couldn’t get a ring for her this time as it wasn’t available. So, I put a rubber band on her ring finger,” laughs Viraf. On her part, Saloni told TOI, “I am anxious, hopeful and excited, all at the same time! This was more memorable than I had thought.”
Viraf and Saloni's friend Saket Sethi shared some pictures of the newlyweds. Patell looks dapper in an off-white three piece suit while his wife complimented him well as she also opted for a matching delicate work saree. We wish the newlyweds all the happiness.
