Television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested a few days ago for allegedly raping a minor girl in 2019. His arrest left the TV industry shocked, and many of his friends from the industry came out in support of Pearl, and vouched for his innocence. Among those who showed their support to Pearl on social media, were Nia Sharma, Karishma Tanna, Aly Goni, and others. Later, Devoleena Bhattacharjee bashed the celebs and slammed those revealing the victim’s identity. She wrote that the social media posts won’t help him, and instead they should go on hunger strike, or participate in a candle march to show their support to him.
Nia Sharma then took a dig at Devoleena, and in turn, Devoleena also hit back. Now, after their Twitter spat, Nia Sharma has apologised to Devoleena. She wrote on her Instagram stories, “My mom, brother and Ravi very lovingly told me I wasn’t right and considering 3 close ones can’t be wrong.. so here I go.. Hey @devoleena I may have crossed the line in being personal.. I’m sorry. It was impulsive. Hope you’ll forget it.”
Accepting her apology, Devoleena replied, “Hey @niasharma90 that is ok. Forgive me too if i have hurt you anyway though that wasn’t my intention at all. Convey my regards to your mom, brother and ravi. Stay safe & take care.”
For the unversed, earlier when Devoleena had suggested that they go on a hunger strike, Nia had reacted to it and she had written, “Didi ko koi bata do dharna and candle march nahi kar sakte pandemic hai abhi bhi. Also Didi needs to practice her dance before she makes those pathetic dance reels thinking she’s nailing them.” In response, Devoleena also hit back indirectly at Nia in a series of tweets.
