It's still all happening out there on Pehredaar Piya Ki. This morning, we told you that the show is poised for a 12-year leap, sometime in October. Obviously, Shashi-Summet (producers) and Sony (broadcaster) have developed cold feet after the I & B MInister Smriti Irani took up cudgels against the show's atrocious content based on the marriage between a 9-year old kid (Afaan Khan) and an 18-year old girl (Tejaswi Prakash).

This afternoon, we called up Afaan Khan's father who, not too long ago, had dismissed our call saying 'Wrong Number'. This time, he was willing to talk.

When asked about the forthcoming 12-year leap, Mr Khan was non-committal. He simply said, "I really don't have any official information on this yet". Note that he did NOT DENY the news of the leap, which we broke FIRST.

We then asked him that how would he feel now that Afaan would be out of the show. A 12-year leap means that Afaan who is shown as 9, would become 21. Would he feel disappointed? "No, I wouldn't be disappointed if Afaan's role ends," he shot back.

Does this indicate that Mr Khan, who once could not conceal his excitement about his son being on the show, is now fed up of the brickbats that have been coming? For those who've come in late, Mr Khan had told us in an EXCLUSIVE interview that he had no issues about the controversy that the show had invited and he was very ecstastic that Afaan was consequently getting even film offers these days. Mr Khan had also said that he and his wife do not mind Afaan's child marriage depicted in the show.
