Mouni Roy got married to her longtime boyfriend Suraj Nambiar in an intimate wedding ceremony last week. The couple walked down the aisle as per Malayali and Bengali rituals in Goa on 27 January in presence of their family members and close pals. Mouni’s wedding was graced by her several industry friends, including Arjun Bijlani, Mandira Bedi and Aashka Goradia. It goes without saying that her conventional wedding look left everyone stunned and was breathtakingly beautiful. But did you know that Mouni had kept her bridal look secret even from Suraj?
Yes, you read that right! In a recent interview with ETimes TV, Mouni’s stylist Rishika Devnani, who was a part of the bride squad, revealed that even Suraj Nambiar didn't know about her look for the wedding. Rishika also gave an insight into the actress's wedding look and said she was clear that she wanted an extremely conventional look in terms of the outfit.
“The first-day wedding look was a traditional South Indian saree look that was actually two sarees handpicked by Mouni herself along with designer and Mouni's friend Anuradha Khurana. It was stitched into a lehenga saree. Mouni was extremely clear that she wanted it to be an extremely conventional look in terms of the outfit, we stuck to statement temple jewellery that we personally handpicked together,” Rishika was quoted saying.
Taking about her stunning Bengali wedding look, the stylish revealed that the actress wore Sabyasachi lehenga and it was accessorised with uncut and emerald jewellery. The draping was also kept extremely convenient to make it look authentically Bengali.
When asked about her veil which looked inspired by Deepika Padukone’s wedding look, Rishika asserted that Mouni is extremely spiritual and a firm believer of the Bhagwat Gita and spiritual chants. The inscription on the veil was extremely personal to her. Further, when quizzed if Suraj give any inputs for Mouni’s bridal look, Rishika Devnani said, “He trusted her instincts.
