Pandya Store Actor Akshay Kharodia Calls Off Wedding With GF Divya Amid COVID-19 Crisis: ‘Wedding Can Happen Later, Don’t Want To Risk Anyone’s Life’
Pandya Store actor Akshay Kharodia, who was supposed to get married to his girlfriend Divya on May 14, has now called off the wedding, due to the current COVID-19 situation in India
The devastating second wave of COVID-19 has gripped India, and several state governments announced some strict restrictions to help control the situation of Coronavirus in the country. Last month, Maharashtra government ordered all film shoots to be halted in light of increasing COVID-19 cases, and the number of guests attending weddings were also reduced. Keeping in mind the current situation with COVID-19 in the country, Pandya Store actor Akshay Kharodia has now called off his wedding with his girlfriend Divya.
Akshay Kharodia was supposed to get married to Divya on May 14, however, it had to be cancelled. The actor, while speaking to ETimes said that the wedding has been postponed, as he didn’t want to risk anyone’s life amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that he and his ladylove had been excited as they were finally getting married after waiting for 8 years. All the preparations were done, tickets were booked, and Divya had also bought her wedding lehenga, however, the wedding had to be postponed for sometime.
“Considering the health of both of our families, whom we love and respect, we decided to cancel everything. It was extremely disheartening to see the situation of our country getting worse in this pandemic and we did not want to add to the ongoing trouble,” said Akshay.
He further added, “Wedding can happen later and we both feel we can wait for a while as we don't want to risk anyone's life. Yes, off course wedding getting postponed was a little disappointing as everything was planned but I feel whatever happens, happens for good.” Akshay mentioned that they haven’t finalized on another date, but when the situation gets better, they will plan the wedding once again.
