Recently, the #MeToo movement was reignited when Payal Ghosh alleged that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap forced himself on her. The actress took to social media and informed her fans and followers about the same while also tagging the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urging him to 'take action.’ She tweeted, '@anuragkashyap72 has forced himself on me and extremely badly. @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji, kindly take action and let the country see the demon behind this creative guy. I am aware that it can harm me and my security is at risk. Pls help!' Apart from accusing him of sexual misconduct, do you know who is Payal Ghosh? Well, she is an actress who played the role of a vamp in Devoleena Bhattacharjee's Saath Nibhana Saathiya.
Payal played the role of Radhika in Star Plus' Saath Nibhana Saathiya four years back. That's not it, she also made her Bollywood debut with Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi also starring the late veteran star Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Vir Das. This film was released last year. She has also been a part of films like Prayanam, Oosaravelli and Mr. Rascal. Ghosh even left her hometown to pursue her dream of acting despite her parents were against her joining the film industry.
Speaking about her allegations, she told ETimes, “I have wanted to speak about this for a long time. But today, finally I thought I must get it off my head. I had tweeted about my incident sometime ago when the #MeToo movement had happened, but many people told me to delete the tweet else I would stop getting work. My manager too advised me to remove the tweet. I complied. Post that, Anurag blocked me on WhatsApp.”
Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap reacted to her allegations and called them baseless. The filmmaker even called out on Payal for dragging his artists in the process of accusing me.
