Much to everyone’s surprise, Pratigya actor Ankit Gera recently got married to an NRI Rashi Puri in a low-key ceremony with only 10 people in attendance. The actor confirmed the news to a daily and revealed that he had a hush-hush wedding because he was never in a favour of a lavish wedding. The two got married on June 5 in Chandigarh. Ankit revealed his marriage was an arranged one and even though they knew each other for a short period of time, he decided to take the plunge.
“It’s an arranged marriage. We are family friends. Our parents were looking for suitable partners for us and that’s when they suggested that we should talk. We started talking in April and soon developed a liking for each other. She flew down to India around three weeks ago before the wedding to meet me. Even though it was a short span, we got to know each other better and decided to take the plunge,” Ankit Gera told ETimes. Gera said that he and Rashi are poles apart.
“We are poles apart in every aspect. Rashi had no clue about my work as an actor. She liked me for who I was as a person and not for my profession. That’s what made me fall in love with her,” he said.
The actor further revealed that their families finalised a date in December but decided to have a lockdown wedding as he will be turning 34 in September and according to him, it’s an ideal age to settle down. ALSO READ: Are Sara Khan And Ankit Gera Getting Married? What Nonsense!
