Rajshri Rani Pandey: I might never get married again
More than a year after she ended her marriage with casting director Vineet Pandey, television actress Rajshri Rani Pandey is trying to cope with the turn of events. “I am so upset, I might never get married  again," says Rajshri, who plays the title role in Star Plus show Suhani Si Ek Ladki.

Rajshri got married to Vineet, the head casting director of Suhani Si… in 2008. For the sake of her career, however, the couple decided to keep their wedding a secret. According to media reports, she finally left her marital home in January last year.

“Now, I have decided to focus on my career.I don’t want to talk about or dwell on my personal life,” she adds.

While she may be facing tough times on the personal front, Rajshri is happy that her career is on the right track.  “It’s been two years since Suhani...started and I never expected the show to enjoy such a long run. I guess the reason is worked is, all our characters are very relatable;  Suhani is like your girl next door. There is no over-the-top drama,” she points out.

Is she similar to Suhani? “She is very good, I am not that good, but yes, we do share some similarities. We are both unsophisticated hailing from a middle-class family, I can also  identify with her inferiority complex about being dark skinned,” Rajshri explains.

About her journey so far, the actress says, “This is my first lead show (she had done a couple of  DD projects  before). My journey has just started and I have a lot to learn. I love it when people recognise me as Suhani.”

Unlike actors who feel stagnated after playing the same character for long, Rajshri has different plans. “I am very happy with my character. So, I would want to continue with the show for a while,” she says.

Though happy being Suhani on screen, Rajshri is open to non-fiction shows as well.
“I have no formal training in dance, but I would love to feature in a dance reality show like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. It doesn’t matter whether I succeed or not,” she signs off.   Thumbnail Image Source: tellyfocus
