It goes without saying that Rakhi Sawant and controversies go hand in hand. The ex-Bigg Boss contestant has been in the headlines for one reason or another. Now Rakhi is in the news owing to her brother Rakesh Sawant’s arrest. As per the latest media reports, Rakesh has been arrested by Mumbai Police in an old cheque-bouncing case and will remain in judicial custody till May 22. On May 7, the Oshiwara police arrested him and Rakesh was presented before the court the following day.
In 2020, a businessman filed a complaint against Rakesh and he even got arrested three years back. However, Rakhi’s brother was released on bail on the assurance that he would return the money to the businessman, but he failed to do so. A Police Officer was quoted saying, “Rakesh Anand Sawant is arrested after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by Andheri metropolitan magistrate's court. Rakesh Sawant has been arrested on a bailable warrant under Section 138 A, Court Case No. 96/ss/2021.
Talking about Rakhi, earlier this year she lodged a complaint of domestic abuse, theft, and cheating against her estranged husband Adil Durrani. He got arrested by Oshiwara Police and is currently under police custody. Speaking to paparazzi, Rakesh had revealed that Adil hit Rakhi the same day their mother Jaya passed away.
He said, “Adil beat Rakhi up very badly the day our mother died. All of us were very angry including our uncles and aunts. We requested Rakhi to go to Cooper Hospital. We took her there and all her medical tests were done. The number of scars on her body, you will start crying on seeing the black marks. He behaved like an animal.”
