Rakhi Sawant’s mother Jaya Sawant dies after a long battle with cancer on Saturday
Rakhi Sawant’s mother Jaya Sawant left for her heavenly abode on Saturday, January 28 after a long battle with cancer. She passed away at a hospital in Mumbai where she was seeking treatment for a brain tumor and cancer. Rakhi is left heartbroken and shattered by the tragic demise of her mom as she was seen crying inconsolably outside the hospital. She shared a statement on her Instagram handle, informing everyone about her mother’s sad death.
In a statement, Rakhi wrote, “With a deep sorrow, I Rakhi Sawant inform you the sudden death of my beloved mother. Many of you know that she was suffering with some medical conditions, while I’m sad to say that she is gone. Several videos of Rakhi crying outside the hospital are doing rounds on social media. In one of the clips, she was seen breaking down in tears near an ambulance as her mother’s body was being taken away. The actor-dance also posted a video of herself sitting on the floor beside her mother in the hospital and captioned it, “Aaj meri maa ka haath sar se uth gaya or mere pass khone ke liye kuch nahi bacha. I love you MAA. Aap ke bina kuch nahi raha, ab kaun meri pukar sunega or kaun mujhe gale lagayega maa. Ab mai kya karu… kaha jauuuu… I miss you Aai."
Many celebs including Jackie Shroff, Ridhima Pandit, Nisha Rawal, Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanayata Dutt, Rashami Desai, and Aly Goni among others took to the comments section of Rakhi’s post and offered condolences to the actress.
Jaya Sawant’s funeral will be held today 29th January.
