Veteran actor Arun Govil became a household name in the 1980s because of his portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's epic television show Ramayan. He recently attended the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh along with his co-stars Dipika Chikhila and Sunil Lahri. Having arrived in Ayodhya days before the opening ceremony of the grand temple, he has now expressed his disappointment in a recent interview after his return.

During a recent interaction with Bharat 24, the 66-year-old actor expressed his gratitude for being invited to witness the historical moment and getting the opportunity to attend the consecration ceremony. However, he also expressed his disappointment and stated that he could not get the opportunity to pay a visit to the Ram Lalla idol. Quoted by News18, Govil said, “Sapna toh bhaiya poora ho gaya par mujhe darshan nahi hue. For those who don’t know, the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir took the nation by storm as all devotees celebrated the special occasion by lighting diyas in their homes. The ceremony was attended by many A-lister celebrities. From cricketers, and actors to other high-profile dignitaries, a report by NDTV states that the event saw the participation of around 8,000 invitees, including 1,500-1,600 eminent guests. Photos and videos from the ceremony are still surfacing the internet, leaving admirers and netizens in awe of the idol’s beauty.
