Karan Oberoi Sent To Judicial Custody; Actor Cries Out Loud In Court
The latest on the TV actor-singer Karan Oberoi case is that he has been sent to judicial custody and the Sessions court has told him that he can apply for bail
Karan Oberoi, who was arrested on Saturday night by the
Oshiwara Police, has been sent to judicial custody, a few minutes back. The TV
actor-singer has been accused of rape by an astrologer. Karan’s close friends,
Pooja Bedi, Sudhanshu Pandey and a few more were present at the court.
On the morning of May 6, the actor was produced in the
Andheri Court and was taken into police custody till May 9. And now the latest
update on the case is that Karan will have to spend some more time in jail. The
court has told the actor that he can apply for bail. From what we hear, he can
initiate the paperwork tomorrow, for the same. The actor, while being led away,
looked quite pale and was crying continuously.
According to the FIR registered by the victim, she met the
accused via a dating app in October 2016 and shortly after they became friends,
she met him at his Andheri residence, as was reported in Mumbai Mirror. The
actor-singer promised to marry her. One day, when the woman went to his house,
the accused allegedly gave her coconut water and soon after drinking it, the
victim started feeling dizzy. In her statement, the woman revealed that it was
then that the accused raped her and recorded the act on his phone.
“Using the video the victim blackmailed me and took money from me. However, whenever I asked him about marriage he kept ignoring it and would ask for more money. Recently, when I insisted on the marriage, he threatened me and said do whatever you want to do,” she stated in the FIR.
