Ravi Kishan To Portray Godman Osho On The Big Screen In Upcoming Film; Actor Says ‘It Was A Good Experience To Play Osho’
Actor and MP, Ravi Kishan is all set to play the role of Godman Osho in the upcoming film titled Secrets of Love. According to the report, the film is directed by Ritesh S Kumar and is inspired by some important events of Acharya Rajneesh’s life
Actor and MP, Ravi Kishan has managed to entertain his fans with his performances in film and television. He was last seen in the 2019 film Batla House that also starred John Abraham. Now, Ravi Kishan is all set to play the role of Godman Osho in the upcoming film titled Secrets of Love. According to the report, the film Secrets of Love is directed by Ritesh S Kumar and it is inspired by some important events of Acharya Rajneesh’s life.
Speaking with Bombay Times, talking about his playing the role of Osho on the big screen, Ravi Kishan said that the responsibility is a lot considering portraying the character of a cult personality, who is controversial and has a massive following. He said, “When you are asked to play the character of a cult personality who is not only controversial, but also has a massive following, the responsibility is a lot more. In order to portray the role as accurately as possible, I had to read many of his books and had to do a lot of research. I had my director by my side to help me out, so it was easy, but still, we were careful about everything and had proper research in place.”
Moving on, Ravi Kishan revealed that it was his eyes that got him the role. He added, “When I asked Ritesh why did he approach me for the role, he said that my eyes are very similar to his and he has seen the Osho getup on my photographs, which is very much like him.” The actor shared the shooting for the film and playing Osho was a ‘good experience’. He continued, “It was a good experience to play Osho. It’s intriguing how one could never interrupt his calm mind. Unka shaant chith bilkul akhandit tha.”
Meanwhile, over the years, Acharya Rajneesh’s life story has always intrigued moviemakers. Back in 2018, rumours sparked up that filmmaker Shakun Batra is making a project based on Osho and his personal secretary Ma Anand Sheela. There were speculations that Aamir Khan will be playing Osho and Alia would portray the character of Ma Anand Sheela. In 2019, Priyanka Chopra Jonas had also revealed during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she would be featuring in a biopic on Ma Anand Sheela.
