Shaheer Sheikh and Sonarika Bhadouria starrer Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali went off-air on January 4 and SpotboyE.com was the first one to inform you about it. We had also brought to you the reaction of producer Annirudha who had told us, "It’s sudden and tragic but I respect the decision of Colors. We are planning to revive the same idea for other OTT platforms with same cast & crew.”
This piece of news definitely left fans upset as not only because of Shaheer and Sonarika, the show was in buzz for other important characters too- one of them being Jodha, which was essayed by Gurdeep Kohli.
The beautiful actress, known in the TV world for her roles in shows like Sanjivani, Kasamh Se, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Bhabhi and Dil Ki Baat Dil Hi Jaane, met us during the trailer launch of her upcoming web series Kehne Ko Hamsafar Hai 2. We quizzed her about why Daastan-E-Mohabbat ended the way it did, in spite of having an audience.
Gurdeep replied to us, "Undoubtedly the show (Daastan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali ) was watched and loved by the audience. But the story line is a debatable topic. So, the makers, channel and the producers were trying to change a few things. But sadly it didn't happen the way it should have happened. It was a great show. For the first time, Salim and Anarkali’s love story was being showcased on small screen. Unfortunately, it didn't do well and we had to shut down the show.” (Watch the video above).
Well, the news of the show going off-air did come as a big shock to many as it was made on a lavish budget and also starred TV world’s one of the most sort after actor, Shaheer Sheikh. And the actors of the show are evidently upset about it too.
