Amit Jain leaves fellow sharks in shock as he offers a huge amount to an entrepreneur duo
Shark Tank India Season 2 might have managed to anger a certain section of the audience, when the sharks of the show refused to invest in a brand that was Vineeta Singh’s competitor, but they are still eager to watch the second episode. The makers took to social media to drop a new promo of the upcoming episode. While, the identity of the pitchers is not revealed, CarDekho’s Amit Jain makes the biggest investment in the history of the show.
In the now viral video, Jain can be seen saying that he is ready to invest Rs 5 crore for five percent to an equity entrepreneur duo. His offer leaves Anupam Mittal, a fellow shark and founder of Shaadi.com, shocked as he tells the pitcher that Amit’s offer is the highest in the history of the show. Talking about the first episode, netizens had bashed Namita Thapar for putting friendship ahead of business. She along with other judges had refused to invest in a brand just because they were Vineeta Singh’s Sugar Cosmetics’ competitor. Issuing a clarification, the businesswoman had said, “Being a shark doesn’t mean we are not entitled to our independent values & speaking candidly so if I don’t invest in a fellow sharks competition, that’s me, no regrets & if I call out toxicity & don’t join the ignorant that celebrate people w lack of integrity.. that’s me :)”
For the unversed, the show is the Indian franchise of the American show of the same name, where known entrepreneurs listen to different business ideas and decide whether or not they want to invest in those ideas. This season, will see Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boat), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com) and Amit Jain (Co-Founder of CarDekho) as the sharks.
