Shark Tank India season 2 will soon be bidding adieu. Being India’s first business-based reality show, it garnered immense popularity amongst the audience. The show gave recognition to not only small businesses but also to the intellectual minds who were behind those businesses. With the grand finale just around the corner, the makers of the reality show recently announced that they will be airing a special digital episode.

The episode will premiere on the streaming platform, SonyLiv. Titled Gateway to Shark Tank India 2, it will give budding entrepreneurs a chance to get an entry in the grand finale of the show. Now amidst reports that Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal will be skipping the show, the makers announced that Happilo’s Founder and CEO, Vikas D Nahar will be joining the rest of the judges as a shark on the show.

The audiences have been left intrigued to know about the movie about Nahar’s background. He is one of the leading names in the nuts and dry fruit industry, who started his company Happilo with an initial capital of Rs 10,000. Currently, the company’s revenue run rate has been estimated to be around Rs 5000 Crores. 


If reports are to be believed, he hails from a farming family, who grew coffee and pepper. His interest in business grew as they taught him to deal with customers or brokers in the market. He was always motivated by his family to pursue further studies, which led him to get an admission in Bangalore University in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Application course. After completing his graduation, he pursued MBA at Symbiosis International University.

The 29-year-old went on to secure a job at the Satvikk Speciality Foods. With his sheer hard work and determination, he went on to become the company’s Managing Director. His experience at the company boosted her confidence and he tried his luck with Happilo, his dream project. He managed to make the company one of the biggest brands in the world. It offers up to 100 varieties of chocolates, 60 varieties of spices and 40 varieties of dry fruits. Not only has Vikas’ company collaborated with many Bollywood movies to feature their products, but also partnered with the Indian Kabaddi Team. He owns a team in DT MotorSports, which helps promote their brand. 

It will be interesting to see if he will leave the audience mesmerised as a shark in the upcoming special episode.
