Shark Tank India’s season 2 has been making it to the headlines for all the right reasons. In the latest episode it was seen that sharks Namita Thapar, Amit Jain and Peyush Bansal get into a verbal argument, when a contestant Arun Aggarwal pitches his invention Janitri for the health sector. The device he was speaking about offers, ‘medical-grade fetal and maternal monitoring solutions to use at hospitals or home.’

While all the sharks were left excited and commended Arun, who hails from a small city in Rajasthan, for his hard work of five years, Namita expressed her desire to make the deal. He had asked for Rs 1 crore in exchange for 2.5 per cent equity. Even Amit and Peyush offered the contestant a joint deal, but it was the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals that won the deal. She went on to say that, “Main iss area ki queen hoon” as she gave her offer to scale up the business of Janitri in all the 70 countries, where her company is already established. 


Speaking about his experience of going on the reality show, Arun told IANS that it was a great experience. He said, “I was very excited to bring Janitri in front of the Sharks. All of them showed great interest and were very keen to know more about the brand and our journey with it. For the uninitiated, the show is the Indian franchise of the American show of the same name, where known entrepreneurs listen to different business ideas and decide whether or not they want to invest in those ideas. This season sees Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boat), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com) and Amit Jain (Co-Founder of CarDekho) as the sharks.
