In the shocking turn of events, we came across another news of a celebrity getting arrested due to sexual offence after actor Pearl V Puri. According to a report in TellyChakkar, Kasautii Zindagii Kay fame Pracheen Chauhan recently got arrested by Malad Police in Mumbai for charges that accuse him of molestation. Reportedly, ‘the actor has been charged with sections of the Indian Penal Code- 354,342,323, 506(2).’ However, more details on the case are yet to be revealed. Pracheen made his television debut with the Star Plus popular show Kasautii Zindagii Kay as Subroto Basu. Followed by several serials including Kuchh Jhuki Palkain, Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka Saat Phere and more.
Meanwhile, on Instagram, Chauhan last shared post, which was made four days ago, was with his friends Sharad Kelkar, his wife Keerti Kelkar, Rahuol Lohani and Meghna Chitalia. The picture seemed to be a reunion one. He captioned it with, “A well spent Sunday with my loved ones ... we must do this often .... thank u @keertikelkar @sharadkelkar @meghnachitalia @rahuol_lohani_official” Nonetheless, in June, Naagin star Pearl V Puri was also accused and was arrested for allegedly raping a minor.
He was booked under Sections 376 AB (Punishment for rape on woman under 12 years of age) of the Indian Penal Code, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. Puri was then granted bail on June 15, 2021.
The entire Telly world came to his support and dismissed those reports. Pearl even released an official statement on his Instagram. An excerpt of his statement read, “Thank you for keeping faith in me and I am a firm believer of #Satyamevjatate. I trust in the law, the judiciary of my country and God up there. Please keep your dua's coming.”
