Mahekk Chahal, who is still hospitalized, recalled she was admitted to ICU and was put on a ventilator due to pneumonia
TV actress Mahekk Chahal, who is currently seen on ‘Naagin 6’, has opened up about battling pneumonia and revealed she was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital in Mumbai. The actress, who is still hospitalized to avoid a relapse, was put on a ventilator. Speaking with Hindustan Times, Mahekk revealed that she just collapsed on January 2 and it was like knives in her chest as she couldn’t take a single breath. Thus, she was rushed to the hospital and was immediately admitted.
The actress was quoted saying, “I got pneumonia. I was in the ICU for 3-4 days. I was on an oxygen ventilator. I just collapsed on January 2 and it was like knives in my chest. I couldn’t take a single breath. I was rushed to the hospital and admitted immediately. A CT scan was taken. I’m still hospitalised, it’s been eight days, though I’m in the normal ward. I have improved a lot, (but) the oxygen still goes up and down. Chahal recalled she was very scared since she had never suffered anything like this earlier in her life. “I was super scared because I have never come to a point in my life where I can’t take a breath and I’m about to faint. Every time I was coughing it was painful, (And) I was thinking, ‘What is going on?’ as we had no clue,” she added.
Mahekk Chahal even mentioned that she initially thought it was a normal cold and that’s why she took all home remedies. But much to her shock her cold and the cough turned out to be very severe.
Meanwhile, Mahekk is a popular face in the television industry and is known for her stint in shows like Bigg Boss Season 5, Kavach, and Naagin among others. She plays the role of Naagin Heena in Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural show.
