Anupamaa has been topping the BARC ratings since it aired on Star Plus. It is one of the most loved shows on television. The show's cast from Rupali Ganguly, Gaurav Khanna, Paras Kalnawat, Madalsa Sharma have garnered adulation. It has been a dream for many to join the cast of Rajan Shahi’s show. Even Bigg Boss OTT fame Urfi Javed wanted to be a part of the show, but declined it.
Yes, you read right, Urfi Javed, who is known for her bold fashion sense, was approached for the show and was even intending to the part of the Anupamaa. However, she declined it because of her ex-boyfriend Paras Kalnawat’s possessive nature, according to the reports of BollywoodLife. Praras played Samar, a doting son of Anupamaa in the show.
For the unversed, Urfi Javed and Paras Kalnawat were in a relationship and parted ways in 2017.
While speaking to India Forums Paras addressed the allegation of being possessive. He was quoted saying, “There should be some kind of aggression in me to retaliate. I don't carry any hard feelings for anyone. If I have a problem with someone, I would go up front and speak to that person rather than speaking anything bad about them. When I see people speaking about me I take it very calmly. I think to myself that if this person is finding happiness by saying all this about me, I'd rather find happiness in their happiness. All this does not affect me at all.”
Javed has been vocal about her break with Kalnawat and has also mentioned that it was her mistake to be in a relationship with him. Urfi was quoted saying while speaking to ETimes, "We were supposed to work together in a show, I guess Anupamaa only. He requested the creative director and everyone to not cast me in the show. Whenever there is even a slight chance of me being in the show, he would request the team to not cast me. Because apparently, his girlfriend, present or ex doesn't want us to work together." She added, “He tried to woo me again by having 3 tattoos of my name, but who does that after one has parted ways? Surely, I wasn't going back to him just for the tattoos. Even if he had tattoos of my name all over his body, I wouldn't have.”
