When Meera learns about the accident, she realises her true feelings for Dharam. The accident thus helps in reuniting Dharam and Meera.
Despite the big age difference between them, Meera had tied the knot with a much older Dharam only to seek revenge.
While Dharam was initially shown as a negative character, he eventually fell in love with Meera.
