Ever since the lockdown has been announced in the country due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, the shooting of all the TV shows has come to a standstill. Asit Modi's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah too has come to a halt. No new episode of the comedy show has been shot since March. However, with Maharashtra Government giving permission to begin shooting of the show in non-containment zones, it is expected that the shooting will resume soon. Munmun Dutta who essays Babita Ji in TMKOC has shed some light on it.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, the makers have not decided on the date as to when the work will begin, however, the planning for the same has begun. She was quoted saying, "The thing is we haven’t really decided when is it going to start. But our producer definitely had the idea to start it soon after undertaking all precautionary measures. That’s a great idea. Everything is still at the planning stage. Everyone has to weigh their pros and cons, plan everything accordingly, and then resume work."
She further stated that everyone has followed the lockdown for almost two months, but now, it is the time to get back to work as everyone is getting affected financially. Sharing that we will have to live with the virus until a vaccine is discovered, Munmun said, "At the end of the day, we all have a family and home to support. I don't want to speak for others, but I definitely do. Everyone is fighting their own battles financially and I definitely welcome the move by the government to open things up gradually in phases and let people work, just like how different countries around the world are opening up slowly."
Munmun Dutta did stress over the fact that we all we have to be responsible citizens and follow the guidelines properly. (Also Read: Jethalal Dilip Joshi, Dayaben Disha Vakani And More: Net Worth Of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Cast Will Make You Scream 'Hey Maa Mataji')
